Creating Meaningful Conversations

June Theme: Protect the Vulnerable

SOM Point of View

The individual is empowered by speaking clearly about whatever condition is happening and, through that, coming to the awareness and embodiment that all there really is, is God. “The one practicing must be able to look a fact in the face and know that all manifestations are effects and can be changed by changing the mental cause.” SOM p189-2

We must continually remind ourselves of the power of the Word, and of our ability to use it. We must know that Truth produces freedom because Truth is freedom. SOM p189-3

…the Universe exists for the expression of Spirit, and man exists for self-expression, because he is the expression of Spirit. SOM p270-3

The way to proceed is to begin right where we are. It is not scientific to attempt to begin somewhere else. One who understands the systematic use of the Law will understand that he is where he is because of what he is, but he will not say “I must remain where I am, because of what I am.” Instead, he will begin to disclaim what he appears to be. As his statements release wrong subjective tendencies, providing in their place a correct concept of life and Reality, he will automatically be lifted out of his condition; impelling forces sweeping everything before them, will set him free, if he trusts in Spirit and the working of the Law. SOM p283-3

Call to Action

We are Centers for Spiritual LIVING. While we do study and contemplate and talk, we are not Centers for Spiritual Study, nor Centers for Spiritual Talking About Things… We are here to LIVE these principles. Our theme this year is Spirituality in Action. How can I be a sacred space of healing and inclusion in the coming days? How can I listen to others? And, perhaps most importantly, to myself? The voice of the unheard is crying out all around us, often in the people we are “unfriending” because we don’t like the sound of it. Let us all strive to remember that everything is either love or a cry for love, and the most strident cries for love are generally the ones that seem the least lovable to us.

As I listen with an open heart and soft eyes, I find Truth has unexpected dwelling places… until I remember there is only One of us.
